Godex G500u label printer

The TSC America Godex G500u is a direct thermal and thermal transfer barcode printer built for retail and industrial labelling tasks. It connects through a USB 2.0 interface and prints at 203 DPI. A 300 meter ribbon is included to support high-volume output.

Suited for high-volume label rolls

Twin-Sensor technology handles a broad range of label materials including specialty and water-resistant media. The strong mechanism is designed for long-term reliability in continuous use. Buyers who need wireless, Ethernet or serial connectivity should look at other models.

203 DPI print resolution

At 203 DPI the printer produces clear barcodes and text for standard shipping, product and compliance labels. Applications that require finer graphics or small high-density codes need a higher-resolution device.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the Godex G500u to my computer and what step is often missed?

Connect the supplied USB 2.0 cable to the printer and a free USB port on the PC, then install the driver before sending the first print job; skipping the driver install is the step most users miss.

Which consumable will need replacing first and how much is supplied?

The thermal transfer ribbon is the primary consumable; the unit ships with a 300 meter roll that must be replaced once exhausted.

What print-resolution limit appears first during long runs?

The fixed 203 DPI resolution sets the detail ceiling; it cannot be upgraded, so very small barcodes or fine graphics may lose clarity before speed or ribbon length becomes an issue.
