A 500mm f/6.3 manual-focus telephoto lens for Nikon Z with 8 elements in 5 groups, 2 ED glass elements and a 12-blade diaphragm
The TTArtisan 500mm f/6.3 is a manual-focus telephoto lens built for Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. Its long focal length suits wildlife, sports and astrophotography where physical proximity is impossible. The optical formula uses eight elements in five groups, including two extra-low dispersion and two high-index glass elements. Photographers who need autofocus or image stabilisation will not find those features here.
A full metal barrel gives the lens a solid feel and an integrated tripod foot balances the weight on a head or gimbal. The Nikon Z mount provides a direct mechanical and electronic coupling without adapters. Focus and aperture are controlled by hand via wide, dampened rings on the barrel. Shooters who prefer compact, lightweight glass for handheld street work will find the size and mass impractical.
The maximum aperture stays at f/6.3 across the entire focus range, limiting low-light shutter speeds and viewfinder brightness. A twelve-blade diaphragm produces smooth, circular bokeh when stopping down. Coma is well corrected for deep-sky imaging, yet the fixed aperture prevents the shallow depth-of-field control available on faster telephotos. Users who rely on eye-detection autofocus or electronic EXIF data must work without both.

The fixed f/6.3 aperture is the widest setting available; the Nikon Z mount does not restrict it further because the lens has no electronic aperture control.
A rotating tripod collar is built into the barrel; ensure your tripod head and plate can handle the lens length and balance point when fully extended.
Turn the focus ring past the hard stop, then pull back slightly; the infinity mark is not at the mechanical end, so test on a distant light before shooting.
