Polished Brass Mortise Lock

The Tuff Stuff 5100DWL is a heavy-duty mortise lockset finished in polished brass. It operates with a storeroom vestibule function that keeps the outside knob always locked while the latch retracts via key from outside or knob from inside. Surface-mounted brass plate assemblies and screw-on knobs with a swivel spindle complete the assembly. The 2-1/2 inch backset suits standard commercial door preparations.

Commercial Storeroom Doors

This lockset suits storerooms, utility rooms and vestibules where the exterior must remain locked at all times and no interior thumb-turn is wanted. The left-hand orientation and keyed-different cylinder limit use to doors hinged on the left when viewed from outside. Builders needing a right-hand version, a deadbolt function or an inside thumb-turn should look elsewhere.

Brass Plates And Swivel Spindle

Solid brass surface-mounted plates protect the door face and resist corrosion in high-traffic areas. Screw-on knobs with a swivel spindle allow smooth lever action without binding. Two brass keys are supplied for the outside cylinder; no additional cylinders, strikes or mounting hardware are included.

Questions about this item

What door thickness and backset does the 2-1/2" backset mortise lock require for installation?

The lockset fits a standard 2-1/2" backset mortise pocket and a 1-1/16" x 7-5/8" face plate cutout on the door edge.

Can the left-hand storeroom function operate with an existing right-hand door swing?

No, the 5100DWL is handed left-hand only; the latch bevel and cylinder orientation will not work on a right-hand swing without a right-hand model.

How do I verify the vestibule storeroom function is operating correctly after fitting?

Outside key retracts latch; inside knob always retracts latch; no thumb turn exists; key removes only when locked — confirming always-locked storeroom operation.
