23 inch Infrared Fireplace Insert

This new tuphen electric fireplace insert measures 23 inches wide and finishes in antique black. It carries CSA and UL certification for the United States and Canadian markets. Infrared quartz heat maintains natural humidity while delivering up to 1500 watts or 5000 BTU per hour. The unit suits recessed wall or furniture mounting as well as freestanding placement.

Buyers seeking supplemental zone heat

The insert heats up to 400 square feet and offers eleven temperature settings from 64F to 82F. Four flame colours and five ember-bed brightness levels run with or without heat. A one to nine hour timer and overheating protection suit unattended operation. Shoppers needing whole-house capacity or a built-in gas connection should consider other categories.

1500 watt infrared heat covers 400 square feet

The quartz element warms the rated area without drying the air. Flame-only mode provides year-round visual appeal at minimal power draw. The timer caps continuous run time at nine hours, and the overheat fuse cuts power if temperatures exceed safe limits. Larger rooms or primary-heat demand will exceed the unit's output.

Questions about this item

What electrical supply does the 1500 W insert require to operate?

The unit runs on a standard North American household circuit; the CSA/UL certification confirms it is approved for use in U.S. and Canadian residential wiring.

Can the infrared quartz heater run alongside an existing central heating system without drying the air further?

Yes, the infrared quartz heat maintains natural humidity while delivering 5000 BTU per hour, so it supplements central heat without the drying effect of forced-air units.

How do I confirm the flame and heater are working correctly after installation?

The top-right digital display shows the active temperature setting between 64F and 82F, the selected flame colour, and the timer countdown from 1 to 9 hours, providing immediate visual confirmation.
