The Turck BI1.5-EG08K-AP6X is a threaded-barrel inductive proximity switch built for flush installation in metal. Its stainless-steel housing and 10–30 VDC supply make it suitable for industrial automation and machine-building tasks where space is limited and a rugged sensor is required.

PNP Normally-Open Output Decides Compatibility

The sensor provides a PNP normally-open switching signal, so it only sinks current to the load when a metal target enters the sensing field. Controllers expecting an NPN or normally-closed signal will not work with this device without additional circuitry.

1.5 mm Switching Distance Sets Range Limits

The rated switching distance of 1.5 mm gives reliable detection of small ferrous parts at close range. Targets farther away or made of non-ferrous materials will not be detected consistently, so the sensor is not suited for applications needing longer stand-off or non-metal sensing.
