An M8 inductive proximity sensor with PNP output, factor-1 sensing on all metals, IP68 protection, magnetic-field resistance and an M12 connector
The Turck BI1.5U-EG08-AP6X-H1341 is a flush-mount inductive sensor built for industrial automation and machine builders who need reliable metal detection at close range. Its threaded M8 × 1 stainless-steel barrel fits compact installations where space is limited and a factor-1 response across all metals is required.
The IP68-rated stainless steel housing (1.4427 SO) resists water ingress, magnetic interference and extended temperature cycles without a cooling fan or moving parts. Power draw stays within a 10…30 VDC three-wire DC supply and the high switching frequency keeps signal latency low during continuous operation.
The sensor triggers at a rated switching distance of 1.5 mm, so it suits applications where the target passes very close to the sensing face. Buyers needing a longer sensing range or a larger barrel diameter for wider clearance will need a different model.

Screw the stainless-steel 1.4427 SO barrel into a matching M8×1 threaded hole until the sensor face sits flush with the mounting surface, then hand-tighten the M12×1 connector until the O-ring seats; avoid tools on the connector to prevent thread damage.
Periodically wipe the sensing face clean of metal chips or coolant residue; the solid-state uprox®+ element has no moving parts, so no scheduled replacement is required beyond physical damage or cable-connector wear.
The sensor draws only a few milliamps, so voltage drop across long cable runs is the first constraint; keep the supply at the connector above 10 VDC during peak load to maintain reliable switching at the rated frequency.
