Outdoor wireless bridge for long-range links

The EZ-Bridge-Lite EZBR-0214+ 70 is a high-power outdoor wireless bridge system that operates in the 2.4GHz unlicensed frequency spectrum. It creates a transparent wireless bridge between two networks up to 3 miles apart with good line of sight. The system is designed for users who need to extend network connectivity between separate buildings or remote locations without running cables.

Sustained throughput and standard compliance

Under sustained load the system delivers real-world throughput up to 15 Mbsec. It complies with the 802.11b and g standards to ensure interoperability with other compliant equipment. The 250mW transmit power helps maintain a stable link over distance, though actual performance depends on environmental conditions and clear line of sight. The 2.4GHz band may experience interference in dense wireless environments.

Simple setup with alignment constraints

Installation involves mounting the integrated antenna units outdoors and aligning them precisely for optimal signal strength. The transparent bridge design means no complex routing configuration is required once the link is established. The main difficulty is achieving and maintaining the clear line of sight needed for the rated distance, as obstacles or misalignment will degrade or break the connection. Buyers who need higher throughput or operation in a less congested band should consider other solutions.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 2.4GHz 250mW radio draw during continuous operation?

The system uses a 250mW 2.4GHz radio that complies with 802.11b and g standards for interoperability.

What network ports must my existing router or switch provide to connect each bridge unit?

Each unit connects to your network through a standard Ethernet interface for a transparent bridge between two sites.

Will the 15 Mbsec throughput limit bottleneck a legacy 802.11g access point on the same LAN?

The bridge delivers up to 15 Mbsec real-world throughput and is fully compatible with 802.11g devices on the wired side.
