The Tycon TP-POE-48G is a midspan power source that adds 48 volt Power over Ethernet to an existing data line. It accepts AC input from 90 to 264 volts and delivers regulated DC power up to 24 watts on pins four, five, seven and eight of a shielded RJ45 output jack. Surge, short circuit, overload and overvoltage protections are built in for reliable operation in tough conditions.

This injector suits installers who need to power a single 48 volt PoE device such as a wireless access point or IP camera over standard Ethernet cable up to 100 metres. It is not for buyers who need 802.3 af or 802.3 at negotiation, who require Gigabit Ethernet throughput, or who must supply more than 24 watts to a high-power device.
