12-inch Ring Light with Overhead Mount

This 12-inch ring light kit includes an overhead metal arm and desk clamp for hands-free lighting. It suits content creators, remote workers and hobbyists who need even illumination for video calls, streaming or overhead photography. The USB-powered design works with standard ports on laptops, power banks or wall adapters.

Sustained output and thermal behaviour

The LED ring delivers consistent brightness during long recording or streaming sessions without the flicker or colour shift that can appear in shorter bursts. Its metal gooseneck arm and dual-spring clamp keep the light fixed in position for hours, resisting sag or vibration on desks up to 2.5 inches thick.

USB power and mounting limits

The light draws power from any USB-A source, so cable length and port current define the practical placement range. The 1/4-inch ball head accepts phones, webcams, compact cameras, microphones and similar lightweight devices, but heavier rigs or full-size cameras exceed the mount’s rated capacity.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 12in ring light produce when powered by USB for a full day of streaming?

The LED ring light runs on USB power and generates minimal heat during extended use, staying cool enough to touch after hours of continuous operation.

What device must I already own to power the USB ring light and mount my phone overhead?

You need a USB power source such as a laptop port, wall adapter, or power bank, plus a smartphone that fits the adjustable holder on the 360-degree rotatable 1/4" ball head.

Will the overhead mount’s desk clamp fit the 2.5in thick reclaimed-wood desk I already use?

Yes, the upgraded clamp opens to 2.5 inches, so it grips your existing desk securely without damaging the surface.
