White rectangular sector antenna with integrated Rocket radio mount and protective shroud

Ubiquiti Networks

Ubiquiti Networks AM-5G16-120 5 GHz 2x2 MIMO Sector Antenna 16 dBi 120°

SKU CH-9N4V-DDWZ3

A 5 GHz sector antenna with 2×2 MIMO, 16 dBi gain and 120° coverage for base-station deployments

  • 16 dBi gain extends link range and capacity
  • 120° sector beamwidth delivers wide area coverage
  • 10 to 5.85 GHz band supports flexible channel planning
  • 2x2 MIMO cross-polarisation rejects co-channel interference
  • Integrated Rocket mount enables plug-and-play basestation deployment

Carrier-class 5 GHz sector antenna

The Ubiquiti airMAX AM-5G16-120 is a carrier-class base-station sector antenna built for point-to-multipoint networks. It operates across the 5.10 GHz to 5.85 GHz band with 2x2 MIMO cross-polarised performance. The antenna delivers 16 dBi gain across a 120° beam-width. Integrated Rocket mounts allow plug-and-play radio attachment.

WISP operators needing wide sector coverage

This antenna suits wireless ISPs and network builders deploying high-capacity multipoint links where noise rejection and co-location density matter. The industrial construction and protective shroud support permanent outdoor installation. Buyers requiring omnidirectional patterns or narrower beam-widths for long-range point-to-point links should consider other antenna types.

16 dBi gain across 120° sector

The 16 dBi gain provides strong signal density across the full 120° azimuth, comfortably serving dense client clusters in the 5 GHz band. Cross-polarisation isolation reduces self-interference when multiple sectors are mounted on the same tower. Capacity diminishes at the sector edges and beyond the rated beam-width where gain rolls off.

Questions about this item

What radio is required to use the AM-5G16-120 sector antenna?

The antenna has a built-in mount designed for direct integration with Ubiquiti Rocket radios, which must be purchased separately.

Will the 5.10 to 5.85 GHz sector antenna affect legacy 5 GHz gear on the same tower?

The antenna provides cross-polarization isolation and is highly resistant to noise interference, qualifying it for reduced co-location interference.

How can I verify the AM-5G16-120 is delivering 16 dBi gain after installation?

Check the Rocket radio's management interface for received signal strength and signal-to-noise ratio across the 120° coverage area to confirm expected performance.
