Converts 48V 802.3af PoE to 24V passive PoE over Gigabit Ethernet for compatible Ubiquiti devices
The Ubiquiti Networks INS-3AF-I-G converts standard 48V 802.3af PoE input into 24V passive PoE output. It allows UniFi, UniFi Video and airMAX devices that require 24V passive power to operate from compliant 802.3af switches. The unit is built for indoor deployment only.
A single Gigabit RJ45 port handles PoE input while a second Gigabit RJ45 port delivers converted power and data to the end device. Both ports support 100 Mbps or Gigabit Ethernet speeds for full throughput. The black enclosure adds ±15kV Ethernet isolation to reduce ESD and surge risk.
The converter functions reliably between 0 and 70 °C (32 to 158 °F) without active cooling. Passive operation means no fan noise in quiet environments. Maximum power output is 24V at up to 45W, drawing from the 802.3af source to enable longer cable runs with efficient high-voltage delivery.

The single RJ45 input port accepts 48V power compliant with the 802.3af standard while passing Gigabit Ethernet data.
The compact black enclosure is designed for indoor placement only and connects inline between two RJ45 cables without brackets.
Connect the 802.3af switch to the PoE In port first, then link the PoE Out port to the 24V passive device to ensure correct voltage conversion.
