Plug-in WiFi 6 extender

The U6-Extender is a wall-outlet access point that adds WiFi 6 coverage using six spatial streams. It supports up to 300 concurrent clients across an area of 115 m² and delivers 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz MU-MIMO performance for homes or small offices.

UniFi ecosystem requirement

This unit cannot operate standalone and must connect wirelessly to a UniFi network managed by a UniFi Console or self-hosted UniFi Network Server. Verify you already run UniFi WiFi and have a free AC outlet at the intended mounting location before ordering.

Thermals and power in use

The device draws power directly from the wall outlet and operates between -10 °C and 50 °C with 5 to 95 % non-condensing humidity. Its compact enclosure uses passive cooling, so it runs silently without fans while maintaining the rated transmit power of 22 dBm on 2.4 GHz and 26 dBm on 5 GHz.

Questions about this item

Does the U6-Extender-US ship with a mounting bracket or PoE injector, or must those be purchased separately?

The unit plugs directly into a standard AC wall outlet, so no bracket or PoE injector is needed.

Should I choose the US model or another regional variant for my installation?

The US variant measures 169.7 x 112.2 x 32.2 mm, weighs 290 g and is rated for -10 to 50 °C operation.

What does the 4.8 Gbps WiFi 6 rate mean for real-world throughput on my network?

That figure is the maximum PHY rate on the 5 GHz 4x4 radio; actual throughput will be lower due to overhead, interference and client capabilities.
