Compact Third-Generation Access Reader

This compact third-generation access reader is designed for door-entry systems that require weather-resistant outdoor installation. It connects through a single 10/100 MbE RJ45 port and receives power over that same cable via PoE. The unit mounts in a standard gang box and carries an IP55 rating for exposed locations.

Suited for PoE access control.

The reader suits installers who can run an Ethernet cable to each door and want a single-cable deployment with PoE. It supports NFC and BLE 4.1 credentials along with Apple Touch Pass for mobile access. Sites without structured cabling or that need Wi-Fi connectivity should consider a different solution.

PoE-powered RJ45 interface decides fit

The only network connection is one 10/100 MbE RJ45 port powered by PoE, so the building must provide Ethernet infrastructure and a PoE source at every mounting point. If the site cannot supply PoE or lacks cabling to the door, this reader will not operate.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the reader is online and functioning after mounting it in a gang box?

The device receives power and network connectivity through its single 10/100 MbE RJ45 port using PoE, so a link light on your switch confirms it is active.

What comes in the package and what must be sourced separately for installation?

The reader itself is supplied; you will need a PoE-capable switch or injector and a standard gang box for in-wall mounting, which are not included.

Which connectivity option should I rely on for credential entry — BLE 4.1 or NFC?

Both are built in; NFC handles tap cards and Apple Touch Pass while BLE 4.1 supports mobile credentials, so choose based on the credential type your users carry.
