The adapter requires a USB-C port for its 10 GbE connection. Using a USB-C to USB-A adapter will limit the link speed to the USB-A port's maximum, which is lower than 10 Gbps.

How can I confirm the 10 GbE RJ45 port is negotiating at full speed after plugging it into my Windows 11 laptop?

Open the network adapter properties in Windows Settings and check the Link Speed value. It should read 10 Gbps when connected to a 10GBase-T switch with a Cat6a or better cable.

Does the box include a Cat6a cable for the 100 metre twisted-pair run, or do I need to buy one separately?
