A 0.5 metre QSFP28 direct attach cable supporting 100 Gbps and 40 Gbps data rates
The Ubiquiti Networks UACC-DAC-QSFP28-0.5M is a half-metre QSFP28 direct attach cable rated for 100 Gbps maximum data rate. It provides a passive copper link between compatible network switches, routers or servers equipped with QSFP28 or QSFP+ ports. The 0.5 m length suits rack-adjacent connections where minimal cable slack is preferred.
This cable fits administrators linking 100 Gbps or 40 Gbps ports inside a single rack or between neighbouring racks. It is not intended for runs that exceed the available length options, nor for environments that require optical transceivers for electrical isolation or longer reach. Buyers needing extended distances or fibre media should evaluate alternative solutions.
As a passive copper assembly, the cable maintains its rated 100 Gbps throughput without active signal conditioning or external power. Signal integrity remains stable across the 0.5 m span during sustained traffic, with latency and bit-error performance determined by the host ports' own equalisation. Heat contribution is negligible compared with active optical or active copper alternatives.

It plugs into any QSFP28 or QSFP+ port that supports 100 Gbps or 40 Gbps operation.
Yes, the link negotiates to 40 Gbps automatically because the cable is rated for both 100 Gbps and 40 Gbps.
Check the port statistics or LED status on each device; they will report the negotiated speed of either 100 Gbps or 40 Gbps.
