Five-pack enterprise access point

The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-HD-5-US supplies five 802.11ac Wave 2 access points built for high-density environments such as venues, campuses or open-plan offices. Each unit delivers simultaneous dual-band 4x4 MU-MIMO operation and supports 500-plus concurrent client connections. Management is handled through the UniFi Controller software for a single unified network view.

Sustained high-density throughput

Four-stream 802.11ac Wave 2 technology provides a combined 2.53 Gbps radio rate while serving many clients at once rather than in short bursts. The dual-polarity antennas rated at 3 dBi and 4 dBi maintain consistent coverage under heavy load. Passive 48 V PoE and 802.3at PoE+ keep power delivery stable with a maximum draw of 17 W per unit across the operating range of -10 to 70 °C.

Ceiling mount with PoE cabling

Installation uses the integrated omni antennas and a single Ethernet cable carrying both data and power, so no separate mains wiring is required. Two gigabit Ethernet ports allow a wired uplink and a downstream device if needed. The reset button is recessed; a paper clip or similar tool is required to trigger a factory reset without damaging the housing.

Questions about this item

How much power does the UAP-AC-HD draw when it runs continuously?

Maximum power consumption is 17W supplied through 48V passive PoE or 802.3at PoE+.

What cabling and power gear must I already have to install one of these access points?

You need a Cat5e or better Ethernet run to each unit and a 48V 0.5A PoE injector or an 802.3at PoE+ switch port.

Will the dual Gigabit ports negotiate down to 100 Mbps on my older switches?

Yes, the two 10/100/1000 ports auto-negotiate so they work with 100 Mbps infrastructure.
