Ceiling-mounted Wi-Fi 5 access point with 8 spatial streams, dual 1 GbE ports, 802.3at PoE+ power and a dedicated security radio
The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-SHD-US is a ceiling-mounted wireless access point built for environments with many concurrent clients such as concert venues or outdoor fairs. It operates on simultaneous dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies using 802.11ac Wave 2 standards with 4x4 MU-MIMO technology. Eight spatial streams and dual-polarity antennas rated at 6 dBi each provide the radio foundation for high-density coverage.
A dedicated security radio runs persistent threat management including intrusion detection and prevention alongside the main Wi-Fi radios. The airView engine delivers real-time spectrum monitoring while airTime provides visibility into factors affecting wireless performance. Configuration and administration are handled through the UniFi Controller software which manages the entire enterprise Wi-Fi network from a single interface.
The unit draws up to 20 W via 802.3at PoE+ across a supported voltage range of 44 to 57 V DC and a PoE power adapter is included with single-unit purchases. Two gigabit Ethernet ports provide wired uplinks and a physical reset button allows quick recovery to factory defaults. Operating temperature spans -10 to 70 degrees Celsius with humidity tolerance of 5 to 95 percent non-condensing. Builders who need wall-mount hardware or outdoor-rated enclosures should verify compatibility separately.

The dedicated security radio and Bluetooth radio are integrated; no user-serviceable parts are listed. The reset button and two Gigabit Ethernet ports are the only physical interfaces exposed for troubleshooting.
The 20 W maximum power draw and 802.3at PoE+ input ceiling cap total throughput before thermal throttling can occur at the 70 °C operating limit.
Maximum consumption is 20 W from a 44–57 V DC PoE+ source; operating temperature range is -10 to 70 °C with 5–95 % non-condensing humidity.
