An in-wall dual-band 802.11ac Wave 2 access point with 4x4 MU-MIMO on 5 GHz and four switched Gigabit Ethernet ports, one supporting 802.3at PoE pass-through
The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-IW-HD-US converts a standard Ethernet wall jack into a simultaneous dual-band 802.11ac Wave 2 access point. It delivers 4x4 MU-MIMO on 5 GHz with a 1733 Mbps maximum PHY rate and 2x2 MIMO on 2.4 GHz at 300 Mbps. Designed for high-density environments such as hotels and meeting rooms, it also provides four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports for wired bridging. Management is centralised through the UniFi Controller utility software.
The unit operates without fans, relying on its compact 139.7 x 86.7 x 25.75 mm enclosure for silent heat dissipation. It weighs 210 g and draws power via 802.3af PoE for base functionality; 802.3at PoE+ is required only when the pass-through port is used to supply a downstream device. No separate power supply is needed in either case.
Five 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports are built in: one PoE input and four switched LAN outputs, with port one configurable for PoE pass-through when powered by 802.3at. The shallow 25.75 mm depth fits standard in-wall boxes, leaving the front surface flush with the wall. Builders who need ceiling mounting, outdoor ratings or additional radio bands should consider other form factors.

It fits a standard single-gang wall box; the step often missed is connecting the in-wall Ethernet cable to the WAN PoE port before snapping the faceplate on.
No user-serviceable parts inside; firmware updates via UniFi Controller keep it current, and only the PoE injector or switch would need replacement if power delivery fails.
The 2.4 GHz radio tops out at 300 Mbps PHY rate, so that band saturates before the 5 GHz 1733 Mbps radio or the Gigabit Ethernet uplinks.
