Desktop 10G Cloud Gateway with WiFi 7

The Ubiquiti Dream Router 7 is a desktop gateway that combines a 10G SFP+ WAN port, a 2.5 GbE RJ45 WAN port and four 2.5 GbE LAN ports with integrated WiFi 7. It targets small businesses and advanced home users who want UniFi application management, license-free SD-WAN and a pre-installed 64 GB microSD card for NVR storage in one device.

Setup and common issues

The unit ships with a power adapter and the microSD card already installed, so initial power-up and adoption through the UniFi controller are straightforward. One PoE-enabled LAN port can power a compatible access point or camera without an extra injector. Builders who need more than four LAN ports or a second 10G WAN connection will need an external switch or a different gateway.

Capacity and headroom

The router handles up to 300 simultaneous clients and manages 30-plus UniFi devices with IDS/IPS throughput of 2.3 Gbps. Wireless throughput reaches 5.7 Gbps on 6 GHz, 4.3 Gbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz across a 160 m² coverage area. Environments that require higher multi-gig aggregate switching or larger NVR retention will outgrow the built-in ports and the 64 GB storage.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Dream Router 7 is operating correctly after installation?

The front System LED shows the gateway status; open the UniFi Network application to verify the 10G SFP+ WAN link, both 2.5 GbE WAN/LAN ports, and the three 2.5 GbE LAN ports are all green and passing traffic.

What ships with the Dream Router 7 and what must I source separately?

The box contains the gateway, a universal 100-240V AC power adapter with cable, and a pre-installed 64 GB microSD card for NVR storage; any 10G SFP+ transceiver module and Ethernet patch cords are not included.

Which Dream Router 7 variant should I choose for my deployment?

Only the UDR7-US model is listed — a desktop 10G cloud gateway with integrated WiFi 7, a 15 W PoE switch port, and 64 GB microSD storage — so select this single SKU.
