Pre-paired 60 GHz link delivers up to 1.7 Gbps throughput with 5 GHz failover for reliable building-to-building connectivity up to 500 m

  • Point-to-point link up to 1.7 Gbps using 60 GHz 802.11ad radio
  • Pre-paired endpoints enable rapid deployment without manual configuration
  • Automatic fail-over to 5 GHz radio maintains connectivity when obstacles block 60 GHz signal
  • Gigabit Ethernet port with PoE powered-device support simplifies cabling
  • Wall- or pole-mountable 3.5-inch form factor suits rooftop and facade installations

Purpose-built PtP bridge

The Ubiquiti UBB UniFi Building-to-Building Bridge is a pre-paired kit of two endpoints that creates a point-to-point link up to 1.7 Gbps bi-directional. It operates primarily on the low-interference 60 GHz band using IEEE 802.11ad technology. The system is managed through the UniFi Controller for simplified network integration.

Ideal for clear-sight campus links

This bridge suits installers who need high-throughput connectivity between two buildings up to 500 m apart with unobstructed line of sight. Buyers who cannot guarantee a clear path should look elsewhere, as obstacles or heavy rain can degrade the 60 GHz signal despite the 5 GHz failover radio. It is not intended for general client access or mesh deployments.

Wall or pole mount with PoE power

Each endpoint mounts on a wall or pole and stands 3.5 inches high, drawing power through its PoE PD port. A single Gigabit Ethernet port connects the link to the local network switch or router. The 5 GHz radio provides automatic redundancy when 60 GHz conditions deteriorate, preserving uptime without manual intervention.

Questions about this item

Do I need a PoE injector or switch to power the UBB?

Yes, the UBB has a PoE PD port so it draws power from a PoE source.

Will the 5 GHz backup radio on the UBB connect to my existing 802.11ac access points?

The UBB includes a 5 GHz 802.11ac radio that can fail over for redundancy.

How can I confirm the 60 GHz link on the UBB is delivering 1.7 Gbps throughput?

Check the UniFi Controller dashboard for real-time throughput and signal strength on the 60 GHz radio.
