Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine UDM-US wireless router

All-in-one UniFi OS console

The Dream Machine combines a dual-band Wave 2 access point, a four-port Gigabit switch and an advanced security gateway in a single unit. It runs the UniFi Network application out of the box, giving home and small-business users a unified dashboard for wired and wireless clients. A 1.7 GHz quad-core processor handles routing, threat management and deep packet inspection without a separate server.

Sustained throughput with integrated security

Under continuous load the built-in security gateway maintains deep packet inspection and internet threat management while the access point serves multiple clients on both bands. The quad-core processor keeps latency stable during prolonged file transfers, video streams and VPN sessions, and the managed switch forwards wired traffic at line rate without creating a bottleneck for the wireless side.

Replaces separate router, switch and controller

This unit consolidates a standalone router, a PoE switch and a UniFi Cloud Key into one device, reducing hardware count and cabling. The jump is worthwhile when you want centralised UniFi management without deploying a dedicated console, but it does not suit installations that require modular upgrades or redundant gateway hardware.
