USB-C hub with four USB-A ports
The Ugreen 15394 adds four USB 3.0 Type-A sockets to a single USB-C upstream connection, letting users attach mice, keyboards, flash drives and similar peripherals to laptops, tablets or phones that only have USB-C ports. It is aimed at anyone who needs more Type-A connections without carrying a bulky dock.
Built-in VL160 chipset and USB-C power port
The VL160 chipset manages the four downstream ports and provides over-voltage, over-current and short-circuit protection for connected devices. A dedicated USB-C power port accepts 5 V 2 A input to keep power-hungry peripherals stable, though this port does not carry video or data signals.
5 Gbps USB 3.0 interface and 2 ft captive cable
Data moves at up to 5 Gbps, which is the ceiling of the USB 3.0 standard used here; faster 10 Gbps or Thunderbolt speeds are not supported. The fixed 2 ft cable limits placement flexibility compared with detachable-cable hubs, and the hub adds no video-out or Ethernet capability.

Questions about this item
Will the VL160 chipset need any firmware updates or replacement over time?
The VL160 chipset is a fixed hardware component with no user-serviceable firmware; no updates or replacements are required during normal use.
What limits sustained throughput when all four USB 3.0 ports are transferring large files simultaneously?
The shared 5 Gbps upstream link from the single USB-C host port becomes the bottleneck once combined traffic exceeds that bandwidth.
How warm does the aluminium casing get and does the hub draw extra power when all ports run continuously for hours?
The hub is bus-powered and draws up to 5 V 2 A from the host; the aluminium body stays warm to the touch but remains within normal operating temperature during extended sessions.
