2.5Gb USB 3.0 network adapter

The Ugreen 25051 adds a 2.5Gb RJ45 port to any device with a USB 3.0 Type-A socket. It targets laptop and desktop users who need faster wired throughput than a built-in 1Gb port can deliver. The aluminium housing weighs 60 grams and includes status LEDs for link and activity.

Upgrade from 1Gb to 2.5Gb infrastructure

The adapter replaces a standard Gigabit connection when a 2.5Gb-capable switch, router or NAS is already present. The Realtek RTL8156BG controller keeps power draw and heat low at full line rate. The jump is only worthwhile when the surrounding network gear supports 2.5Gb speeds.

Limited by USB 3.0 host bandwidth

Throughput cannot exceed the host controller's USB 3.0 bulk-endpoint capacity, so sustained rates may fall below the 2.5Gb PHY ceiling. The dongle is not compatible with Nintendo Switch, Wii, TV platforms or Synology NAS units. Driver support is required for macOS, Windows and Linux hosts.
