Installation notes

Plug the male Mini DisplayPort end into the host and attach a VGA cable to the female port; the gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and need no drivers on supported systems. The built-in chipset handles conversion in one direction only, so the adapter will not drive a Mini DisplayPort display from a VGA source. Buyers who need two-way conversion or audio over the same cable cannot use this product.

Practical limits

Video output tops out at 1920 x 1200 and 1080p Full HD, which covers most legacy projectors and office monitors but not higher-resolution panels. The VGA interface carries no audio, so a separate audio connection is necessary for sound. The adapter does not support Surface or Surface 2 tablets, nor does it work with devices that lack a Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt output.
