What the Gimbal Guard Is For

The Ultimaxx Phantom 4 Plastic Gimbal Guard is a white protective accessory designed for the DJI Phantom 4 drone. It snaps onto the camera gimbal to shield the lens and stabilisation mechanism from knocks during transport or rough landings. Pilots who want a lightweight, model-specific cover that adds minimal weight will find it fits the intended airframe precisely.

Practical Limits of the Snap-On Design

The guard is made from rigid plastic and relies on a friction fit, so it can pop off during a high-impact crash or if the drone tumbles in tall grass. It does not waterproof the camera, nor does it protect the propellers or the airframe body. Users who need full airframe armour or a tethered lens cover should look for a more comprehensive protection system.
