Ultratech 2162 Drain Seal 48 in x 48 in
The Ultratech 2162 Drain Seal is a 48 in x 48 in square polyurethane cover designed to create a positive seal over drains up to 42 in x 42 in. It meets NPDES and SPCC standards for spill containment and is supplied new in orange and yellow colours for high visibility on industrial and automotive sites.
Thermals and reuse limits
The seal withstands liquid temperatures up to 225 °F for 30 minutes and continuous exposure up to 160 °F. It remains flexible down to 0 °F and can be stored between 0 °F and 120 °F. The reusable construction allows multiple deployments without loss of sealing performance.
Fit and deployment
The flat square profile lays directly over the drain opening with no tools or additional hardware required. Its 48 in dimensions cover the maximum 42 in drain size while leaving a perimeter margin for a secure seal. The lightweight polyurethane rolls or folds for compact storage on response vehicles or shelf racks.

Questions about this item
How do you install the 48 in x 48 in drain seal and what step do people get wrong?
Lay the polyurethane sheet flat over a drain no larger than 42 in x 42 in so the orange-yellow material creates a positive seal; the common error is using it on a bigger opening where the edges cannot bond.
What maintenance or replacement will the Ultra Drain Seals Plus model need later?
The reusable polyurethane seal should be inspected after each use for cuts or chemical swelling; replace it when the material no longer forms a full positive seal across the 48 in square.
What limit appears first during sustained use of the drain seal?
The 160 °F maximum continuous temperature rating is reached before the 225 °F short-term limit, so prolonged exposure above 160 °F will degrade the polyurethane first.
