Spill Capacity & Application

The Ultratech 8153 is a collapsible circular containment pool rated for 150 gal of listed spill capacity. It serves facility and traffic safety operations that need temporary outdoor liquid containment. The economy model suits crews responding to incidental releases or staging portable decontamination zones. It is not intended for permanent installed bunds or applications requiring a wellhead hood.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The auto-rising sidewall uses steel and polyethylene support material to deploy without manual framing when liquid enters the pool. Polyethylene construction at 10 mil thickness contains compatible chemicals during the dwell time required by SPCC and NPDES plans. The open-top design allows continuous gravity filling while the sidewalls maintain structural integrity under hydrostatic pressure. No pump or powered inflation is needed for sustained operation.

Build Quality & Daily Use

The pool measures 64 in inside diameter at the top and 76 in outside diameter at the bottom with a 12 in height when deployed. Yellow polyethylene provides high visibility on job sites and resists UV exposure during outdoor storage. The collapsible format folds flat for transport between sites and fits alongside model 8155 accessories. No permanent mounting hardware is included, so placement relies on level ground and perimeter clearance.

Questions about this item

Does the pool need power or make noise while holding liquid all day?

No, the 150 gal collapsible pool is passive polyethylene with an auto-rising sidewall; it uses no electricity, produces no noise, and generates no heat during continuous use.

What must I already own for the 8153 pool to function as intended?

The pool is supplied alone and is designed to be used with manufacturer model 8155, which you will need to provide separately.

Will the 64 in inside diameter and 12 in height fit around the older drum pallets I keep on site?

The 64 in internal diameter and 76 in outside diameter at the base give ample room for standard drum pallets, while the 12 in wall height contains spills without interfering with existing pallet footprints.
