Product identity

The Unbranded 12-inch luminous quartz wall clock in black uses an analog display powered by a single 1.5V AA battery. Its glossy plastic case features a dome shape and Art Deco styling with green luminous accents. The silent quartz movement suits bedrooms, hallways or offices where audible ticking would be unwanted.

Upgrade context

This clock replaces older mechanical wind-up or audible quartz models that require winding or produce noticeable ticking sounds. The jump is worthwhile when a completely silent, battery-operated timepiece with a self-illuminating dial is preferred over models needing external light at night.

Practical limits

The luminous dial absorbs ambient light energy and glows for approximately 3-6 hours in darkness before fading completely. It cannot function as a permanent night light and requires sufficient daylight or artificial light exposure to recharge the luminous material effectively.

Questions about this item

What size wall opening or hook spacing does the 12 inch diameter case need?

The clock measures 12 inches across, so a single sturdy hook or screw centred on the wall is sufficient; no special bracket or multi-hole template is required.

How do I set the time and alarm on this quartz movement, and what common step is missed?

Insert one 1.5 V AA cell, pull the setting knob out, turn to the correct time, push the knob back in, then set the alarm hand separately — forgetting to push the knob in leaves the movement stopped.

When will the luminous dial stop glowing and what part needs replacing later?

After absorbing light the glow lasts roughly 3 to 6 hours before fading; the only replaceable part is the 1.5 V AA battery when the quartz movement stops.
