8 inch USB Display Adapter for Raspberry Pi
The Unew CX080PI-A is an 8 inch USB display adapter with a 1280x800 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. It uses an IPS panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 178° viewing angles. The unit includes a cooling fan, dual speakers, a stand, and VESA mounting holes for flexible installation in DIY projects or as a portable secondary screen.
HDMI and Type-C interface limits
Video input relies on a standard HDMI port and a Type-C interface, while power requires the supplied 12V2A DC adapter. The 60Hz refresh rate caps motion fluidity at that level. Brightness reaches 300 cd/m² with a 1000:1 contrast ratio and sRGB 100% colour gamut. Touch functionality is built in but requires a compatible host device to operate.
Driver-free setup with included boards
The monitor is driver-free for supported systems and ships with multiple adapter boards including HDMI-A, HDMI-D, Micro USB, Type-C and a 3-pin terminal cable. Installation involves selecting the correct board for the host device and connecting both video and 12V power. Missing the dedicated power supply or using an incorrect board are the most common setup issues.

Questions about this item
Should I use the Type-C, HDMI or micro-USB board for my Raspberry Pi?
Use the Type-C board for a Pi 4 or the HDMI-D board for a Pi 3; both carry 1280x800 at 60 Hz and the display is driver-free.
Will 1280x800 at 60 Hz look sharp on an 8 inch panel?
The 16:10 IPS panel has 178° viewing angles, 300 cd/m² brightness and 1000:1 contrast, so text and video stay clear at that resolution.
Does the single Type-C port carry both video and power?
No — the Type-C interface handles video only; the monitor needs the supplied 12 V 2 A DC adapter for power.
