Unique-Bargains 2pcs Plastic CPU Fan Bracket Base Black AMD AM2 AM3 AM2+ AM3+ 940

SKU CH-AFAF-EBZJ9

A two-piece plastic bracket that secures an AMD AM2, AM2+, AM3 or AM3+ CPU cooler to socket 940 motherboards

  • Replaces broken AM2 940 mounting brackets
  • Supports AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ sockets
  • Directs cooler weight to rear for stability
  • Two plastic bases included for spare or dual use
  • Simple installation keeps CPU and heatsink secure

What this is

This is a pair of black plastic mounting brackets for AMD AM2, AM2+, AM3 and AM3+ sockets with the 940 pin layout. They replace a damaged motherboard retention frame so a compatible heatsink can be secured again. The CPU fan itself is not included.

Who it suits

It suits anyone repairing an older AMD motherboard that uses the listed socket types and has a broken or missing plastic bracket. It is not for builders working on newer socket families, and not for users who need a complete cooler with fan and heatsink included.

Deciding spec

The only specification that decides fit is the socket compatibility: AM2, AM2+, AM3 and AM3+ with the 940 pin layout. If the motherboard uses any other socket, these brackets will not mount.

Questions about this item

Does the plastic bracket get hot or make noise when the system runs all day?

The bracket is a passive plastic mount with no moving parts or electronics, so it generates no heat and makes no sound regardless of how long the computer runs.

What must I already own for this bracket to work?

You need an AMD motherboard with an AM2, AM2+, AM3 or AM3+ socket (including 940 variants) and a compatible CPU cooler that uses the standard AMD retention mechanism.

Will this bracket fit the older AM2 cooler I want to keep using?

Yes, the bracket is made for AM2, AM2+, AM3 and AM3+ sockets, so it will accept coolers designed for any of those AMD platforms.
