  • Net weight 42g; dimensions 11 x 8 x 2.5cm
  • Bracket base only — CPU fan not included

Compatible AMD Socket Bracket

This plastic CPU fan bracket fits AMD AM2 940 motherboard sockets and replaces a damaged original mounting base. It secures the heatsink to the processor without requiring a new cooler. The bracket is sold alone; no fan is included in the package.

For Single-Socket Repairs

Builders repairing an AM2 940 board can reuse their existing cooler with this holder. It does not support other AMD or Intel sockets, so owners of different platforms will need a different mounting solution. The part addresses only the retention mechanism, not the cooler itself.

Simple Drop-In Installation

The bracket aligns with the existing motherboard mounting holes and weighs 42g, adding minimal stress to the PCB. Dimensions are 11 x 8 x 2.5cm for clearance planning. The only common issue is forgetting that the cooler fan must be supplied separately.

Can I reuse my existing cooler if it uses the standard AM2 mounting holes?

Yes, the bracket replaces the original AM2 940 retention frame so your current cooler will bolt on again.

The plastic base should sit flat on the motherboard with all four retention tabs locked and the cooler making even contact with the CPU.
