Audio connector with screw terminals

This 3.5 mm male plug converts a standard headphone jack into a three-pole screw terminal block. It lets you connect bare wires without soldering, making it useful for CCTV microphones, custom earphone leads or any short-range audio hookup. The gold-plated contacts resist corrosion for reliable signal transfer.

Sustained connection reliability

The screw-down clamps hold each conductor mechanically, so vibration or cable movement will not loosen the joint over time. Gold plating on the contact surfaces maintains low resistance even after repeated mating cycles. The plastic and zinc-alloy housing insulates the terminals and shields them from incidental shorts.

Three-pole stereo layout

The connector provides tip, ring and sleeve connections matched to a standard 3.5 mm stereo socket. If your application needs only two conductors or a balanced mono circuit, this pin count will not match the requirement.

Questions about this item

Does the 3.5 mm male plug generate any heat or noise during continuous use?

No, the connector is a passive metal and plastic adapter with no active components, so it produces no heat or audible noise regardless of how long it remains plugged in.

What cable preparation is required before the three screw terminals will accept the wires?

Strip each conductor back a few millimetres, twist the strands, and insert them into the 3-pole terminal block; the screw-down clamps hold bare wire without soldering.

Will the gold-plated 3.5 mm tip make reliable contact with an older 3.5 mm jack that has oxidised contacts?

Yes, the gold plating resists corrosion and maintains low-resistance contact even when the mating jack has aged or oxidised surfaces.
