12-Inch 50-Ohm BNC Jumper

This 12-inch coaxial cable carries 50-ohm signals between two BNC male connectors. It is built for broadcast, video transmission and video surveillance installations. The solid centre conductor and tinned copper braid provide consistent shielding. The flexible PVC jacket allows easy routing in tight equipment racks or camera housings.

RG174 Capacity and Limits

The RG174 construction handles standard analogue video and SDI runs up to the supplied 12-inch length with minimal loss. Attenuation rises quickly beyond short patch distances, so the cable is not suited for long-haul distribution or high-frequency RF links. The .11-inch diameter keeps the bend radius small, but the thin dielectric limits power handling for transmitter outputs.

Nickel Body Gold Contacts Advantage

Nickel-plated connector bodies resist corrosion in humid studio or outdoor surveillance environments. Gold-plated brass contacts maintain low contact resistance through repeated mate and unmate cycles. The package includes a single cable, so installers needing multiple jumpers must order additional units separately.

Questions about this item

Will the 50 ohm impedance match my existing BNC test leads?

Yes, the cable is built to a 50 ohm specification so it will match other 50 ohm BNC equipment without creating an impedance mismatch.

How can I verify the gold plated brass contacts are seated correctly after connecting the cable?

Push each BNC plug until the bayonet lugs click into the locked position; a firm twist confirms the centre pin and outer conductor are fully engaged.

Does the package include any adapters or terminators, or just the 12 inch RG174 jumper?

Only the single BNC male to BNC male jumper cable is included; no adapters, terminators or additional hardware are supplied.
