Dual-monitor KVM for two computers

The Unitek SJW-KM202B connects two desktop computers to a pair of HDMI monitors and three USB 3.0 peripherals. It accepts two HDMI inputs and provides two HDMI outputs, allowing a single keyboard, mouse and storage devices to control both systems. The unit is designed for desktop hosts only and is not compatible with laptops.

Included cables and power adapter

A DC 5 V power adapter and the required USB A-to-B cables are supplied so each computer can send USB and video signals to the switch. The bundle also provides the HDMI cables needed for the dual-monitor layout. Without these specific cables the switch cannot pass both video and USB data between the two connected PCs.

HDMI 2.0 and HDCP limits

Video is limited to the HDMI 2.0 standard with HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 support, capping resolution at 4K 60 Hz, 2K, 1080p or 3D formats. The switch does not support DisplayPort or other video interfaces, so both computers must provide HDMI outputs. USB traffic runs over USB 3.0 ports, while the USB A-to-B links to each host are mandatory for KVM operation.

Questions about this item

Will the three USB 3.0 ports need any driver updates or firmware flashes over time?

The switch uses standard USB 3.0 and HDMI 2.0 protocols with no firmware interface, so no driver updates or flashes are required.

What is the first limit reached when both computers push 4K@60Hz continuously?

The HDMI 2.0 bandwidth ceiling at 4K 60 Hz is the hard limit; the switch passes the signal without compression.

How much heat does the DC 5V adapter produce after an all-day session?

The unit draws 5 V DC and runs passively with no fan, so heat stays low even during extended dual-monitor use.
