Universal 3.5mm 4-Position Stereo Splitter Y

This adapter converts a single 4-position 3.5mm audio port into two separate 3-position 3.5mm ports for microphone and headphone connections. It enables the use of older headsets with combined plugs on newer laptops and mobile devices that split audio and mic inputs. The compact U-shaped design makes it easy to carry for on-the-go use. Ideal for users needing to connect legacy audio accessories to modern combined jacks.

Sustained use behaviour

As a passive splitter with no active electronics, it introduces no latency or signal processing during extended sessions. The gold-plated connectors resist corrosion to maintain consistent contact over time. Cable strain is minimal because the adapter plugs directly into the host device without a dangling lead. No driver installation or power source is required for continuous operation.

Compatibility check

Verify that your device has a single 4-position 3.5mm TRRS port rather than separate microphone and headphone jacks. Ensure your headset uses a 4-pole plug compatible with the CTIA wiring standard used by most smartphones and laptops. The adapter provides two 3-position TRS sockets, so it will not combine two separate headsets into one port. Confirm the physical space around the port accommodates the U-shaped body.
