Each module converts a DB9 female port to an RJ-45 interface, allowing legacy serial equipment to communicate across long cable runs in industrial or commercial installations. The set includes both local and remote modules required for a complete point-to-point link.

Asynchronous Rate and Distance Limits

The extender operates at 300-115200bps in full or half duplex mode, conforming to RS-232C and V.24 asynchronous protocol. Maximum extension distance of 1.2 km is achievable only when a pair of units is deployed together on dedicated twisted-pair lines; a single unit cannot extend the signal. Surge protection is built in to shield connected RS-232 equipment from transient damage.

Power and Temperature Envelope

Each module requires an external 9-24VDC 1A supply, which is not included in the package. The units are rated for continuous operation from -25 to 70 °C with 5-95 % relative humidity, making them suitable for harsh cabinet or outdoor enclosures.
