Two-pack Ni-MH replacement batteries

These two nickel-metal hydride cells replace the Uniden BT-1028 pack in compatible two-way radios. Each unit delivers 3.6 volts and 1000 milliampere-hours capacity. They suit owners of GMR3040-3CK, GMR3040-2CK and GMR2638-2CK walkie-talkies who need fresh power.

Build quality and daily fit

The cells measure 44.5 by 30.5 by 10.2 millimetres, matching the original battery dimensions for a direct fit. A DBCK steel shell resists rupture from internal overpressure. The chemistry contains no mercury, cadmium or lead, reducing environmental impact. Low self-discharge construction keeps stored packs ready for longer periods.

Capacity and cycle life

Rated capacity is 1000mAh at 3.6V, giving extended talk time between charges. The manufacturer quotes up to 1200 charge-discharge cycles before significant degradation. Buyers needing higher capacity or a different voltage should look elsewhere.
