Compatible DTMF Microphone

The usbroway MH-48A6J is a backlit DTMF keypad microphone designed for compatible Yaesu and Vertex Standard mobile radios. It provides direct frequency entry and memory channel recall from the handset. Four programmable soft keys bring frequently used menu functions to your fingertips. A hand-up clip is included in the package.

Suits mobile operators needing keypad control

This microphone suits operators who want to enter frequencies or DTMF tones manually while transmitting. It also suits users who prefer programmable soft keys for quick menu access. Builders whose radio is not in the supported model list should look at a different microphone. Users requiring a simple push-to-talk handset without a keypad will not need this feature set.

Works with listed Yaesu and Vertex models

Compatibility is limited to the specific Yaesu and Vertex Standard mobile stations named in the specifications, including the FT-100D, FT-8800R, FT-8900R and FT-7900R series. The connector and signalling match those models only. Verify your exact radio model against the supported list before purchase.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the MH-48A6J is working after connecting it to my FT-8900R?

The backlit keypad should illuminate, direct frequency entry and memory recall should respond, DTMF tones must be audible on transmit, and the four soft keys should trigger their assigned menu functions.

What items are included with the MH-48A6J and what must I source separately?

The package supplies one MH-48A6J DTMF speaker microphone and one HLN9073B mic hand-up clip; any mounting hardware, extension cables or radio-specific adapters are not included.

Which version of the MH-48A6J should I choose for a Yaesu FT-7800R?

The single model MH-48A6J is compatible with the FT-7800R and the full listed Yaesu range, so no alternative version or capacity selection is required.
