Thermal Noise Power

The unit runs at low heat during normal charging cycles. No fan is present so operation stays silent in office or vehicle environments. Power draw remains modest while topping up single or dual batteries.

Sustained Load Behaviour

During extended multi-bay charging the housing stays warm but within safe limits. Charge current holds steady until each pack reaches full capacity. The charger then switches to maintenance mode without overheating.

Questions about this item

How do I install the PMLN6394A charger and what step do people often miss?

Connect the supplied power cord to a mains outlet, then seat the radio with its PMNN4434 or PMNN4453 battery, or place the bare battery in the rear slot; the step users miss is confirming the charge LED lights for each position before walking away.

What maintenance or replacement will this charger need over time?

The spring-loaded contact pins can accumulate oxidation; clean them periodically with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free swab, and replace the unit if the LEDs no longer indicate a full charge on known-good PMNN4434AR or PMNN4453AR packs.

What limit appears first during sustained multi-shift charging?

The single-input design means only one PMNN4434 battery or one RMU2080 radio charges at a time, so cycle time becomes the bottleneck when rotating multiple PMNN4434A packs across a shift.
