  • Compatible with all Hape train sets for ages 3+

App-Controlled Train Engine

This Bluetooth-enabled train engine pairs with a free mobile application for speed adjustment and directional control. It also features onboard buttons for basic operation and sound activation without a phone. The design suits children aged three and up and integrates with existing Hape wooden railway systems. It is not for buyers who need a complete starter set with track included.

Rechargeable Build and Daily Use

A built-in battery charges via the supplied cable, removing the need for disposable cells. The body uses high-quality, ultra-strong materials chosen for durability during regular play. Onboard controls provide a fallback when a mobile device is unavailable or for younger users not ready for app interaction. It is not for environments where charging access is limited for extended periods.

Bluetooth App and Sound Variety

The free app connects over Bluetooth and offers five selectable sound effects alongside forward, reverse and stop commands. This single wireless interface defines the interactive experience and distinguishes the engine from simpler push-along or infrared models. It is not for users who require operation without any smartphone or tablet involvement.

Questions about this item

How far does the Bluetooth connection reach when controlling the train from a phone?

The engine pairs with the free app via Bluetooth so you can drive it forward, back or stop it and trigger any of the five built-in sounds from your mobile.

What track systems does this engine work with?

It fits every Hape train set, so it connects to the same wooden rails and joiners you already own.

How do you charge the built-in battery, and what mistake should be avoided?

Plug the supplied charging cable into the port on the engine; the only common error is trying to insert the cable upside-down, which blocks the connector.
