IP KVM Extender for 300 metre HDMI runs

This UTEK extender sends 1080p HDMI video, audio and USB keyboard and mouse signals up to 300 metres over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable. It uses standard TCP/IP networking so the transmitter and receiver can connect through an ordinary Ethernet switch. The kit includes both TX and RX units with US power adapters.

Plug and play hardware installation

The units are pure hardware devices that require no driver or software installation on the host computer. Connect the transmitter to the HDMI source and the receiver to the display and peripherals, then link them with a shielded Cat5e or Cat6 patch cable. The most common issue is exceeding the 300 metre cable limit or using unshielded cable that introduces interference.

Supports 1080p resolution at 48 kHz audio

The extender handles 480p, 720p and 1080p video resolutions with HDCP 1.4 compliance. Audio is transmitted at sample rates of 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz using MJPEG decoding. If your source outputs a higher resolution than 1080p, this model will not pass the signal.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the extender is passing a 1080P signal after connecting the CAT5e cable?

The RX unit will output 1080P, 720P or 480P automatically; check the display's info menu to verify the active resolution.

Which cables and accessories are included versus what I must source separately?

The kit supplies the TX and RX units plus US-plug DC5V/1A power adapters; you provide the CAT5e or CAT6 cable and any HDMI leads.

Should I choose the KVM model or the no-KVM model for my setup?

Select the KVM version if you need USB keyboard and mouse control at the remote end; choose the no-KVM version for video-only extension.
