Extends USB 2.0 signals up to 20 km over FC fiber or 100 m via CAT6 with a four-port hub for webcams and printers
This KVM switch extends USB 2.0 signals up to 20 km over single FC optical fiber or 100 m over CAT6 cabling. It provides four USB ports for connecting keyboards, mice, webcams, printers and other peripherals. The system operates as a paired transmitter and receiver with no configuration required. It suits administrators who need to operate a host computer from a distant location.
The compact transmitter and receiver units have no moving parts and draw power from the included US-plug adapters. Passive cooling keeps the devices silent during continuous operation. Low-speed control data is limited to one byte per second to maintain link stability. The extender also allows remote startup, shutdown and restart of the connected host.
The package supplies both the local and remote units plus matching power adapters with US-type plugs. CAT6 or FC fiber cabling is not included and must be sourced separately to match the required distance. The plug-and-play design means no driver installation or management software is needed. The yellow Conn LED on each unit indicates link status during cable transmission.

Connect the transmitter to the host with a USB cable, link the receiver to your peripherals, then join the pair with either a single FC fibre up to 20 km or a CAT-5E/6 cable up to 100 m using the 568B wiring standard; the step often missed is using a straight-through 568B patch lead — crossover or 568A cables will not link.
No scheduled maintenance is required; if a link fails, swap the fibre patch cord or the CAT-5E/6 cable first, as these are the only field-replaceable parts.
The USB 2.0 signal rate shared across the four ports becomes the bottleneck before the 20 km fibre or 100 m copper distance limits are reached.
