Purpose and Audience

The v AV Access EXB01 is a wired push-button remote designed exclusively for the iDock C20 and D23 docking stations. It lets users toggle between two connected computers from a distance without reaching the dock itself. Ideal for professionals sharing peripherals across a work laptop and a personal system, or for gamers who switch between a desktop and a portable rig. Not suited for setups that require switching more than two inputs or for use with any dock outside the named iDock models.

Build Integration

The button connects to the compatible iDock via a 1.2 m cable, drawing 5 volts from the host unit so no separate power supply is needed. Its compact 40 mm diameter and 9.5 mm thickness allow placement on a crowded desk or mounting under an edge. The accessory frees the main dock to sit out of sight while keeping instant switching within reach. It adds no extra video, data or audio paths; it only mirrors the dock’s existing input-select function.

Thermals Noise and Power

Passive operation means zero fan noise and no measurable heat output during normal use. The unit draws minimal current through the 5 volt link from the iDock, so it does not affect the dock’s power budget or thermal profile. Operating temperature is rated down to -69 degrees Celsius, far below any office or home environment. No active cooling, moving parts or firmware updates are involved, keeping long-term reliability simple.
