Climbing Hard Hat Type 1 Class E
The V-Gard 10194795 is a climbing hard hat rated ANSI Type 1 Class E for electrical protection. It uses a polyethylene shell with a four-point ratchet suspension that adjusts to fit head sizes from 6-1/2 to 8. The yellow shell carries no graphics and has no venting.
Ratchet Suspension With Side Slots
The four-point ratchet suspension tightens by hand without removing the hat. Side slots accept compatible accessory mounts such as face shields or hearing protection. The hat weighs 1 lb 2 oz and is compatible with MSA suspension replacements.
Low And High Temperature Rated
The helmet meets low-temperature and high-temperature test requirements for use in cold and hot environments. Reverse donning is not supported so the brim must face forward. It is not a high-visibility model and offers no venting for airflow.

Questions about this item
How does the polyethylene shell perform when it is worn continuously on a hot site?
The hat meets the high-temperature test requirement, so the shell retains its protective properties during all-day exposure to heat.
Does the ratchet suspension generate noticeable noise or make the hat feel warmer during extended shifts?
The 4-point ratchet system has no moving parts that create noise, and the non-vented shell prevents airflow changes that could affect perceived temperature.
Which chin-strap or harness must I already own to use this as a climbing helmet?
The hat is compatible with MSA-brand suspensions, so an MSA chin-strap or harness designed for V-Gard hats is required for climbing use.
