Questions about this item

How do I install the plastic mounting ring in a gypsum ceiling retrofit, and what step is often missed?

Cut the ceiling opening for the 8" speaker, insert the ring flush with the surface, and secure it before mounting the speaker; the step often missed is ensuring the ring sits level so the speaker grille aligns correctly.

Will the plastic mounting rings degrade or need replacement after installation in a ceiling?

The rings are designed as permanent structural supports for the 8" speaker; under normal indoor conditions they do not require scheduled maintenance or replacement.
