5 Watt paging horn

The Valcom V-1030C-GY is a 5 W RMS paging horn designed for one-way voice announcements in commercial and industrial environments. Its gray finish suits exposed mounting on walls or structural steel. The unit operates on 24 V DC and includes an I-beam clamp and mounting base for flexible installation.

Frequency response and output headroom

The speaker delivers a frequency response of 225 Hz to 14 kHz, covering the speech band clearly for paging and alert tones. At 5 W RMS it provides adequate volume for moderate indoor spaces or covered outdoor areas. Larger open yards or high-noise factories will exceed its output capability.

Upgrade from lower-powered horns

This model replaces older 2 W or 3 W paging horns when broader coverage or higher intelligibility is required. The jump is worthwhile when existing horns cannot cut through background noise or when mounting points demand the included I-beam clamp. It is not suited for installations needing music-quality fidelity or stereo playback.

Questions about this item

Will the V-1030C-GY paging horn connect to my existing 24 V DC paging amplifier without extra adapters?

The unit operates on 24 V DC input, matching standard Valcom paging amplifier outputs. Connect the two-wire feed from the amplifier to the horn's screw terminals; no separate power supply is required.

How can I verify the V-1030C-GY is reproducing audio correctly after mounting?

Apply a page and listen for clear speech between 225 Hz and 14 kHz at the rated 5 W RMS output. The gray horn should project evenly without distortion when driven by a compatible 24 V DC source.

Does the V-1030C-GY box include mounting hardware or must I buy brackets separately?

The package contains the V-1030C speaker system, an I-beam clamp and a mounting base. All three items are in the box, so no additional brackets are needed for typical beam or wall installation.
