15 W Megaphone for Paging Systems

The Valcom VC-SX15-T-BG is a beige megaphone rated at 15 W for indoor and outdoor paging. Its ABS housing includes ultra-violet inhibitors and stainless-steel hardware for weather resistance. A pop-on horn design attaches to a shatter-resistant base that mounts to eight common electrical boxes. A nine-position selector switch adjusts output for 25, 70 and 100 volt speaker lines.

Suited for Fixed Public-Address Installations

This unit suits installers who need a permanent, weather-resistant paging horn for schools, warehouses or campuses. The multi-tap selector simplifies matching to existing 25, 70 or 100 volt distributed-audio systems. Buyers who want a handheld, battery-powered megaphone for mobile use should look elsewhere, as this model requires connection to a constant-voltage speaker line and fixed mounting.

Integrates with Constant-Voltage Audio Lines

The horn connects directly to 25, 70 or 100 volt speaker wiring without a separate transformer. Its universal base fits standard electrical boxes, freeing the installer from sourcing custom brackets. The selector switch sets the power tap on site, so the same unit works across different zones of a distributed system. No amplifier or mixer is included; the line must be driven by a compatible constant-voltage source.

Questions about this item

What voltage speaker line must already be installed for the 15 W megaphone to operate?

The unit operates on 25, 70 and 100 Volt speaker lines, so one of those line voltages must be present at the mounting location.

Will the nine-position selector switch integrate with an existing 70 Volt paging amplifier?

Yes, the selector switch is designed for 25, 70 and 100 Volt lines, allowing direct connection to a 70 Volt amplifier without additional transformers.

How can I confirm the megaphone is paging correctly after mounting it to an electrical box?

Apply a page signal through the connected speaker line; the horn will reproduce the announcement at the selected 15 W tap, verifying proper operation.
