Valcom VIP-D440 IP PoE Clock

The Valcom VIP-D440 is a four-digit digital clock that receives power and data through a single Ethernet cable. It is designed for facilities that want synchronised time displays without running separate power wiring.

Suited for networked buildings.

This clock suits offices, schools or factories that already have a 10/100BaseT network and want automatic NTP synchronisation. Buyers who need a standalone battery-powered unit or a display larger than four inches should look at something else.

Four-inch display with PoE headroom

The four-inch digits remain readable across a typical room and the IEEE 802.3 af Power over Ethernet supply eliminates the need for local mains outlets. The 10/100BaseT link handles NTP updates and DHCP or static addressing, but the clock does not offer built-in scheduling or multi-zone control.

Questions about this item

What network infrastructure must already be in place for the VIP-D440 to receive power and data over a single RJ45 cable?

The clock requires a Power over Ethernet switch or injector compliant with IEEE 802.3 af and a 10/100BaseT Ethernet network.

Will the VIP-D440 operate correctly if the existing network uses static IP addressing instead of DHCP?

Yes, the clock supports both DHCP and static IP address assignment, so it works with either method.

How can I verify the clock is synchronised correctly after connecting it to the network?

The four-digit display will show the current time once the unit obtains an IP address and successfully synchronises via NTP.
