Swivel plate caster for yard carts

This swivel plate caster is built for wheelbarrows and yard carts that need a single replacement wheel. The 350 lb load rating suits moderate garden loads and light equipment moves. Buyers who need a braked caster or a higher capacity for heavy construction carts will not find those features here.

Thermals noise and power draw

As a passive wheel component the caster generates no heat, draws no power and produces no operating noise. Performance depends entirely on the cart frame and the surface it rolls over. Users who expect motorised assistance or powered drive should look elsewhere.

Ribbed rubber tread and plate mounting

The ribbed rubber tread provides grip on grass and gravel while the 8 inch diameter rolls over uneven ground. The plate mount bolts to standard cart frames without specialised tools. The tread is not non‑marking so it may leave residue on finished floors.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the plate caster correctly, and what step is often missed?

Bolt the top plate through all four holes using grade-5 hardware; the step people skip is tightening the bolts in a cross pattern so the swivel race seats evenly.

What part will need replacement first on the 8 in rubber wheel?

The ribbed rubber tread wears down before the swivel bearing; plan to swap the wheel when the ribs are flush with the core.

At what load does the 350 lb rating become the limiting factor during continuous rolling?

Sustained loads near 350 lb on rough surfaces heat the rubber and accelerate tread wear, so the load rating is the first limit you hit.
