Plate Caster Kit for Heavy Loads

This Value Brand plate caster kit contains four polyurethane wheels rated at 4800 lb total capacity. Each wheel measures 8 inches in diameter with a 2 inch width and features a cast iron core. The non-marking tread protects floor surfaces while supporting heavy equipment or carts in yard and outdoor settings.

Rigid and Swivel Configuration Upgrade

The kit includes both rigid and swivel casters to replace fixed wheels or basic swivel units lacking load capacity. This combination improves manoeuvrability while maintaining straight-line tracking for loaded carts. The upgrade is worth it when existing casters cannot handle the weight or when floor protection becomes necessary.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous heavy loads the polyurethane tread resists flat-spotting better than softer rubber compounds. The cast iron core maintains structural integrity without deformation during prolonged stationary periods. No brake or swivel lock is included so the casters roll freely until manually stopped by the operator.

Questions about this item

What plate hole pattern is needed to bolt these 4800 lb casters onto a cart?

The kit uses a standard top-plate mount; match the bolt-hole spacing on your cart frame to the plate dimensions before drilling.

Which step is most often missed when installing the four casters so the cart rolls straight?

Tighten all plate bolts evenly with the casters sitting flat on the floor; uneven torque twists the frame and causes tracking problems.

When should the polyurethane-on-cast-iron wheels be replaced?

Replace wheels when the polyurethane tread shows deep cuts, chunking, or flat spots that cause vibration under a 4800 lb load.
